Crosley Field History
Crosley Field opened as Redland Field in 1912. It took just seven months to build during one of the coldest winters in Cincinnati's history. The old ballpark at Western and Findlay has been the home to many great teams and many great players such as Edd Roush, Ernie Lombardi, Ted Kluzsewski, Frank Robinson, and Pete Rose.
This scoreboard commemorates the final game, June 24, 1970, when back to back home runs by Johnny Bench and Lee May gave Crosley and the sold out crowd of 28,027 its final victory.
